Gifts of Equipment and Supplies

Philanthropy has an enormous impact on the California Wildlife Center. From a new anesthesia machine, ICU incubator and X-ray machine — to outdoor enclosures and facility upgrades — CWC has benefited from the generosity of dozens of donors.

With advanced medical equipment, wildlife patients receive the full benefit of the veterinarian's professional skills and avoid transport, which is inherently stressful to the animals.

Although support for new buildings or large endowments is very important, it’s the smaller items and improvements that help the center run smoothly on a day-to-day basis. Planned Giving/Tributes

Leave a legacy for generations to come. By naming California Wildlife Center in your will or trust, you can help ensure that native wildlife will be protected in the future. Gifts of cash, stock, property or insurance may be allocated to an endowment fund.

As a tribute, you may make a donation in honor of a special person or occasion, or in memory of a loved one. The honoree or family will be notified of your generosity.

United Way and Matching Gifts

Giving at Your Workplace

Why choose to give at the workplace? It’s the easiest and most effective way to support humane causes in your community. Giving through payroll deductions, spread out over the year, is extremely convenient. Once you pledge a contribution, it happens automatically — including a charitable donation calculation on your T4 slip at the end of the year for tax purposes.

United Way's Donor Choice program gives employees the ability to designate beneficiary agencies outside of the United Way's general allocation pool. Contact the personnel office at your company for information about how to make CWC your beneficiary.

Double or Triple the Value of Your Gift at No Extra Cost!

A matching gift can increase the value of your gift to help us provide high quality animal care and continue to pursue advances in health care, community education and research. Many employers match the charitable gifts of their employees and retirees, including spouses. Contact your employer about how they can match your gift to CWC!

Leverage Your Volunteer Efforts

Some companies will make a donation in honor of their employee's volunteer hours at CWC — check with your HR office.

Contributor Shopping

Merchant contributions can make a difference for our wild patients. Here is a shopping guide that will help you designate the California Wildlife Center as your charity of choice.

• Help the animals while you shop at Ralphs. We participate in the Ralphs Community Contribution Program which contributes between 1% and 4% of what you spend. This enables anyone with a Ralphs Supermarket Club Card to support the California Wildlife Center while saving money by swiping their Club Card when they shop at Ralphs. Mark your calendar to renew this each January!
• At iGive.com, they've compiled a diverse array of over 550 merchants who will donate up to 27% of your purchase to the cause of your choice. We highly recommend downloading their excellent Shopping Window, which ensures you'll never miss out on a donation.
• Amazon.com donates a portion of your purchase to CWC, and MyCause.com and eScrip, similar to iGive, are general portals to a variety of online storefronts. Note: For CWC to benefit, these three partners must be accessed from this website.
• CharityChecks.us lets you "Give the Joy of Giving." When you purchase their "Giving Certificates" as gifts, the recipients can make the certificate out to any of over 800,000 organizations. This is a fantastic way to kindle the philanthropic spirit in children as well.
