Updates: Fawns, Ralph’s, Tree Trimming
Fawns… Mission Accomplished (really)!
Good news! The fawns we wrote you about in July of this year have just been released! All six fawns enjoyed a successful release into the Santa Monica Mountains early on October 5th after a three-month stay in CWC’s newly completed fawn enclosure. Three of the six are pictured here, just after they were released.
The new enclosure not only allowed for the fawns to recover and/or mature, but also gave CWC staff and volunteers the unforgettable experience of watching the process through eight video monitors. The monitors were set up throughout the enclosure and were streaming live into the office’s television system. This allowed CWC staff to gain front row access to the fawns while not affecting their recovery process.
The rehabilitation process went well for all six fawns that came to CWC suffering everything from abandonment to being hit by cars. Through the care and expertise of the staff all six recovered fully and were recently deemed well enough and old enough to be released into the wild.

It’s Now Safe to Move About Your Garden… And to Trim Those Trees!
Yep! It’s that time of year again! Tree trimming season begins in November and extends all the way through January. This is the time to safely trim those trees without having to worry about harming any wildlife (resident babies, etc). In fact, it’s better for your trees to be trimmed when they are dormant in the winter.
Look for the Fall newsletter coming soon, and keep an eye on our website - we will be offering holiday gift ideas for friends and family that also help give our wildlife a second chance! Thanks for your support - Victoria Harris
