Dr. Duane Tom obtained his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University. He has previously done volunteer work and externships at The Columbus Zoo, The Lindsay Wildlife Museum, IBRRC, Sea Life Park Hawaii and Santa Barbara Zoo. He works as a small animal emergency relief Veterinarian several times a month to keep current with the latest medical advances in veterinary medicine. He also has Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in Management Information Systems and Finance from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Born and raised in Hawaii, he moved to Southern California in July of 2005 and joined the CWC staff in October 2006. Although he feels the water here is too cold to surf, he still likes to hike, snowboard and fish in his free time.
